Friend of Scouting Campaign - Donate Today!

Posted on Apr 11 2012 - 9:42pm

The Friends of Scouting Campaign is coming to a close and your support is needed. At Saturday's Blue and Gold Banquet, pledge forms were provided to each family with a request to consider making a donation to the FOS campaign. Each year, Scout councils across the country conduct Friends of Scouting campaigns to ask for financial support from families involved in Scouting and from the business community. The money raised through Friends of Scouting helps to support the operation of the Daniel Webster Council, which includes:

•Camp properties, including Camp Carpenter and Griswold Scout Reservation (Hidden Valley and Camp Bell)
•Adult leader training sessions and materials
•Program resources for units
•Scout Service Center
•Youth Protection training program for youth and adults
•Criminal background checks on new leaders
•Full-time professional staff
•Support staff and record-keeping
•Membership campaigns to introduce youth to Scouting

If you made a donation or pledge at Blue and Gold, Thank You! If you are thinking about your charitable contributions, be sure to remember Scouting in your giving plans. If you missed the Blue and Gold banquet and would like to donate to Friends of Scouting or get more information, please email the Pack Committee Chair, Pete Macdonald at: petemacdonald@comcast.net The 2012 campaign will be ending soon, so please act today!

Your continued support and participation in Cub Scouting is gratefully appreciated!
